NAB insists DIRECTV to deliver local TV service

National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) insists DIRECTV to deliver local TV service in all the 210 markets by end of 2008. NAB sent a letter to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) expressing their concern about the delivery of local channels in all the markets. DIRECTV already delivers local TV programs in 144 markets. NAB took this issue when FCC is getting ready to vote on DirecTV-Liberty Media merger. The meeting was scheduled on Feb 25 has been postponed to the next day and it’s unclear if FCC will take up the issue.
